Ag 400 silver molecular sieve is a highly efficient material for hydrogen removal

The primary function of this product is to remove hydrogen from high-vacuum equipment, thereby ensuring safe, stable, and long-term vacuum integrity while simultaneously reducing operational costs.

 

Ag 400 is a synthetic Silver-ion Exchange Zeolite molecular sieve possessing excellent performance characteristics for hydrogen removal in low-temperature vacuum systems. Additionally, it features the capability to selectively remove halogens from gas streams and facilitates catalytic hydrogen-oxygen reactions. This inorganic aluminosilicate material features a crystalline "supercage" structure characterized by uniform pore sizes. These pores possess open access channels capable of capturing a large volume of various contaminants, thereby optimizing the catalytic efficiency of the exchanged silver cations. Ag 400 is primarily utilized within low-temperature vacuum vessels to remove hydrogen that slowly outgasses from materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, and thermal insulation, thereby ensuring the maintenance of an ultra-high vacuum environment within the vessel.

 

Safety: No risk of hydrogen explosion occurs during the hydrogen removal process.

 

Stability: Ag 400 maintains its hydrogen-adsorption efficacy over an extended period.

 

Hydrogen Removal Mechanism:

 

The mechanism of Ag 400  Zeolite involves a combination of physical adsorption and chemical adsorption of hydrogen.

 

Simultaneously with physical adsorption, a chemical reaction with hydrogen takes place. Ag 400 contains active silver ions; during the hydrogen removal process, hydrogen molecules bond with these silver ions to form stable hydrogen bonds, which become embedded within the crystal lattice of the molecular sieve carrier. This process ultimately achieves the objective of removing hydrogen from the system. Furthermore, this process does not generate water, thereby effectively preserving the vacuum integrity.

 

Usage Instructions:

 

Ag 400 silver molecular sieve is a highly efficient material for hydrogen removal.

 

Ag 400 is supplied in the form of spherical granules and requires no prior activation before use. This hydrogen-removal agent should be placed at the ambient-temperature section of the high-vacuum equipment.
