Ag400 is a synthetic Silver-Ion-Exchanged Molecular Sieve featuring excellent performance in removing hydrogen from low-temperature vacuum equipment. It also possesses the capability to selectively remove halogens (fluorine, chlorine, bromine, and iodine) from gas streams, as well as to facilitate catalytic hydrogen-oxygen reactions. This inorganic aluminosilicate material features a crystalline "supercage" structure characterized by pores of uniform diameter. These pores possess open entrances that allow for the capture of large quantities of various contaminants, thereby facilitating the full utilization of the exchangeable silver cations. Within low-temperature vacuum vessels, it functions similarly to palladium oxide—removing hydrogen that slowly outgasses from materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, and thermal insulation—thereby ensuring the maintenance of an ultra-high vacuum.

Ag400 operates primarily through a combination of physical adsorption and chemical adsorption of hydrogen.

Simultaneously with physical adsorption, a chemical reaction with hydrogen takes place; Ag400 Silver Exchanged Zeolite contains active silver ions, and during the hydrogen removal process, these ions bond with hydrogen to form stable hydrogen bonds. These bonds become embedded within the crystal lattice of the molecular sieve support, ultimately achieving the objective of hydrogen removal.
